This post made my heart sink. My mom died three years ago tomorrow. I too am from the midwest (Ohio) and the smell of Vicks Vapo rub takes me back to those cold bitter Lake Erie winters and the loving hands of my mom rubbing it around my nose and on my neck. Thanks for that memory.
